Gravenhurst Winter Carnival has been a week long event and tonight bring your skates to Muskoka Wharf for the family skate. Tomorrow is packed with events including polar bear dip, puddle jump, snowshoeing, wagon rides and more.

Saturday

The 2nd Annual Coldest Night of the Year fun walk is at Barrie’s City Hall. A 2, 5 or 10 km walk with just a hint of the challenges currently faced by homeless. Supporting Simcoe County’s youth haven shelter. Starts at 5p tonight.

Gravenhurst Winter Carnival brings a big day of fun with snow sculptures, snowshoeing, horse drawn wagon rides, polar bear dip and puddle jump events at Gull Lake Rotary Park.

The 26th Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival begins with the Snowball Parade and opening ceremony from the Rec Centre.

The Amsoil Kawartha Cup National Snocross takes flight today and tomorrow at Lindsay Exhibition grounds for it’s 51st Annual event. It’s round #4 on the CSRA SnoCross Racing circuit. Opening green flag drops at 9am, beginning at 2p it’s the main event with the Pro Open featuring the best of the best in snocross.

The 2nd Annual Innisfil Polar Dip is happening out of Innisfil Beach Park today at 130p.

The Nordikids Festival is at Hardwood Ski and Bike.

The Snowboard Ontario Riders Series is at Horseshoe with alpine and freestyle competition.

The 46th Annual Model Train Show is at Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery today, the largest of its kind in the area. Runs 10a-4p today.

Meanwhile in Barrie, Disney’s Cars are at the Mady Centre this afternoon.
