Police have been warning the public since the beginning of the year regarding various scams that have been occurring across the province almost daily. They have YET another one to warn you about. This one has to do with your tax returns. Since your taxes should have been done already, the scammers are trying to gain access to your personal information by insisting that you own the government money and you need to pay now. Police say the Fraudsters are pushy and they attempt to get you to send money by using a transfer. They may also direct you to a fake CRA website. The OPP say don’t give out any information and never click on the information they provide over the web.
