Barrie Coffee Shops Call The Cops After Receiving Funny Money

Counterfeit US $50 and $100 bills Used At Three Separate Tim Horton's Shops in Town

Counterfeit US Money UsedBarrie Police say someone has been spreading funny money around town. On Friday, investigators were contacted by three separate Tim Horton’s shops claiming to have received counterfeit US currency. The Timmies in the Georgian Mall says they got a fake $100 bill on November 6th. A north end Bayfield St. shop also got a phony $100 bill, on November 19th, while a Blake St. Tim Horton’s was short changed, they only got a fake $50 bill on November 22nd. Police have reviewed security footage, and say at least three black males and one white female are involved. One of the suspects is pictured here.
