UPDATE: Additional Charges Laid As Barrie Police Shut Down Two Pot Storefronts

Police Say Both Marijuana Dispensaries Are Illegal

September 2nd – Final charges laid in connection to the raiding of two Barrie marijuana dispensaries. Barrie Police say the owner of the downtown pot shop has been charged with Possession and Trafficking, after officers on Monday executed search warrants at what they called illegal and unlicensed dispensaries, near the Five Points, and in the Dunlop and Anne St. area. Police announced earlier this week, four others face the same charges.


August 31st – Barrie Police say they have charged four people in connection to Tuesday’s raids of two marijuana dispensaries. All face charges of Trafficking and Possession. Three people from a Dunlop and Anne St. location, said to be the owners and operators of the facility, have been charged, as has employee of a downtown location. Constable Sarah Bamford with the Barrie Police Service tells us further charges should be expected.


August 30th – Two Barrie marijuana dispensaries have been raided. Barrie Police Service say, following complaints from the public, they went into the two locations with search warrants, claiming both establishments to be illegal pot dispensaries. Constable Nicole Rodgers with the Barrie Police tell us no dispensaries are permitted to have marijuana on the premises, that the pot they sell is unregulated and could come from anywhere. Those who require marijuana for medicinal purposes would go through Health Canada to receive their supply through the mail.
