Barrie Special Constable Fired After Crown Says He Accessed Restricted Video

Special Constable Allegedly Watched Pixelated Video Of Woman In Custody

A Barrie Special Constable is out of work, after police say he breached procedures. In January, police were notified by the Crown Attorney’s office that one of their special constables had accessed restricted video of a female in custody. The Barrie Police Service says they have since implemented enhanced security and approval measures for all video recordings from now on, and have terminated the Special Constable in question. He was fired on March 31st.
