Boil Water Advisory Issued For Parts Of Tay Township

Residents of Grandview Beach and Paradise Point affected

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has issued a Boil Water Order for the seasonal water system at Grandview Beach and Paradise Point, due to inadequate chlorine levels within the distribution system. Routine water sampling is being conducted and staff are monitoring the situation. The order will remain in effect until sample results and chlorine levels are adequate and the Health Unit is satisfied there are no further concerns to the public. When the order has been lifted, residents will be notified by hand-delivered notices.

What to do:

All water used for consumption should be heated to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute prior to use (store in a clean covered container). Unless it has been boiled first or is commercially bottled or water from a known safe source, water should not be used for drinking, baby formula, juice, ice, washing fruit and vegetables or brushing your teeth. NOTE: Home filtration devices DO NOT kill bacteria.
