Child Left In Vehicle In Barrie Parking Lot; Mom Charged
Passersby heard crying
A 34 year old Barrie woman has been charged with Child Abandonment after a 23-month old child was left in a vehicle in the Sobey’s parking lot on Mapleview Drive in Barrie. Police were called at noon yesterday. Before they arrived, concerned passersby, who had heard the child crying, had removed it from the vehicle and were caring for it in the shade. Police say the child ahd been left alone for approximately 16 minutes. Paramedics assessed the child and found it had suffered no ill-effects.
