Diet Vodka Is Now A Thing!

Wait! I thought Vodka had no calories!

Ketel One, the makers of a high-end Vodka is jumping on the low-sugar low-calories trend by offering its booze in three flavours that only has 73 calories per 1.5 -ounce serving!

They say that every calorie counts, but was this really necessary?  A regular 1.5-ounce of vodka has about 100 calories, no carbs, protein or fat!

25% fewer calories in the new Botanical liquor in Peach & Orange Blossom, Cucumber & Mint and Grapefruit & Rose…

Keep this in mind, since distilled spirits in the U.S. and Europe must be at least 40 percent alcohol by volume, Ketel’s Botanical line (which clocks in at 30 percent ABV), can’t technically be called a true vodka. Instead, it’s being marketed as a spirit that’s “made with vodka.”

How does this Vodka compare to wine?

A 5-ounce glass of white table wine has about 121 calories, according to the USDA nutrient database — that’s 40 percent more calories than a 1.5-ounce serving of the new Botanical vodka. A serving of wine also has about 3.8 grams of carbs but no fat.

A large class of a red wine (Cab Sav) has about 120 calories with less than 1 gram of sugar!

Check out the Wine chart… it will tell you how much sugar and calories are in your favourite wine!  The new Ketel One Botanicals will retail for about $25 per bottle and will be available this month!
