Floodwatch Continues

Water still running high in many rivers and streams

We could get more showers today, aggravating an already messy situation in parts of the region. A State of Emergency has been declared in Minden Hills where some homes and businesses have been evacuated. Waterways in the north portion of Simcoe County and Muskoka remain high. Sandbagging in some areas continues.

68 millimetres of rain fell in Orillia over the past few days, 42mm in Barrie, 40mm in Collignwood.

The situation is worse in parts of Quebec. Nearly 1900 homes have been evacuated in 126 towns and cities, including Montreal.
