GAME OF THRONES HACKERS ARRESTED
The Game is over for some hackers!
Authorities in India have arrested four men in connection with the leak of a recent Game of Thrones episode online. The fourth episode in season 7 and a huge data dump of HBO bosses emails surfaced online last mouth at the hands of hackers who went by the name “Mr. Smith”. The episode leak and data dump appear to be separate from each other- authorities found the source of one leak came from the company’s distribution partner Star India.
Police raided the Prime Focus office in Bangalore on August 11. The four suspects are expected to remain in custody for a week as the criminal investigation continues.
Meanwhile, HBO chiefs are still trying to halt the continued leak of its original material by hackers, who previously released a script from a future Game of Thrones episode and reportedly posted the contact details for stars like Emilia Clarke and Lena Headey online.
