Gravenhurst Trying Out A Transit System
Partnership With Hammond Transportation to Make use of Highway 11 Corridor Bus
Gravenhurst partnering with Hammond Transportation on transit system pilot project, using the Highway 11 Corridor Bus. The bus runs from Huntsville to Barrie and back every weekday, but ends up sitting idle in Gravenhurst for a few hours a day. It’s been proposed that bus be used to shuttle residents around town, and they’ll test out this proposal from July 1st to the end of the year. The first two months will be a free trial period, followed by a two dollar fare. The bus would run from 11am to 3pm, at an expected annual cost of about $18,000.
