Laser Hits ORNGE Helicopter Pilot

Sent To Hospital With Eye Injury

Police are alarmed that people are not getting the message about laser strikes. The latest attack was on an ORNGE air ambulance pilot who was hit while flying over Innisfil Sunday night. The pilot suffered a minor eye injury, which was assessed at Sunnybrook Hospital and was unable to fly for the remainder of his shift. Police say this is not the first time this has happened to an ORNGE ambulance and that this sort of attack endangers both the flight crew and the patient on-board.  They also remind that pointing a laser at an aircraft is a criminal offence. South Simcoe Police ask that if you have any information regarding this incident you call Police 705-436-2141 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
