Local Money For Cancer Research

High School Students Raise Over $177,000

The Canadian Cancer Society is getting a boost for research, thanks to a group of schools in the area. 7 Simcoe County District High Schools raised over 177-thousand dollars through their Relay for Life Events. Bear Creek Secondary School, Eastview Secondary School, Elmvale District High School, Nantyr Shores Secondary School, Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School, Orillia Secondary School and Twin Lakes Secondary School held Relay for Life events to raise funds in support of the fight against cancer. Since 2002 over 300 Ontario schools have raised more than 26-million dollars for Cancer Research.
