UPDATE: Charge Laid After Long Weekend Marred By Violence At Wasaga Beach

Two men from Caledon killed

May 31st –  An arrest has been made in one of the deaths at Wasaga Beach during the holiday weekend. A 21 year old local charged with second-degree murder in the Victoria Day death of 23 year old Erick Tello Arias of Caledon. He had been stabbed during an early morning altercation on Main Street. Two days earlier, 18 year old Francesco Molinaro, also of Caledon, died after a fight on Mosley Street. He, too, had been stabbed. An arrest is yet to be made in his death.


May 23rd – OPP have released the names of two men killed in separate incidents at Wasaga Beach. A 23 year old man, identified as Erick Tello Arias, died early Monday morning after an altercation on Main Street near Skull Island. An 18 year old, Francesco Molinaro, died Saturday night after an incident near Pizza Pizza on Mosley Street. Both men had suffered stab wounds, but an exact cause of death has yet to be released. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. “Loss of life is always devastating; our condolences go out to both families,” said Wasaga Beach Mayor Brian Smith. “It is my intention to meet with the OPP in the coming days to discuss the circumstances. Right now, the Town’s objective is to determine what can be done to try to prevent these altercations from happening in the future.”
