A new study has come out claiming that pasta might, in fact, be the key to losing weight.
The study looked at evidence from nearly 2500 people who ate pasta every week alongside a low sugar diet. The study found that pasta didn’t contribute to weight gain or increase in body fat.

The lead author Dr John Sievenpiper, is a scientist with the St Michael’s Hospital’s Clinical Nutrition and Risk Modification Centre in Toronto.

‘In weighing the evidence, we can now say with some confidence that pasta does not have an adverse effect on body weight outcomes when it is consumed as part of a healthy dietary pattern. ‘In fact analysis actually showed a small weight loss.
Remember, it’s about quantity… Having two or three bowls isn’t wise and is the same as having seven slices of toast instead of one.
So in conclusion, Pasta, if eaten as part of a balanced, healthy lifestyle might well help us lose weight as it fills us up and reduces the need to snack during the day.
