Newmarket Woman Charged With Shooting At Pokemon Go Players

Pellet Gun Allegedly Used, No Injuries Reported

One Newmarket woman doesn’t appear to be a big fan of Pokemon Go, or at least those who play the game. York Regional Police got a 911 call around 10:30 Saturday night, over allegations someone was shooting at people playing the popular new app in the Main and Water Streets area. Officers arrived and were pointed to a two-storey building, where police say they found a woman on the roof taking shots at players, with a pellet gun. The 29-year-old woman was taken downtown and charged with Possession of A Dangerous Weapon, and Assault with a Weapon. There were no injuries reported.
