No Drunk Drivers, One Suspended Driver For South Simcoe Police

No Charges Due To Spot Check, One Due To ALPR

South Simcoe Police are pleased with some recent RIDE results and their new hardware. First off, police say they held RIDE spot checks in Innisfil and Bradford overnight. Officers stopped 250 vehicles in total, and not a single Drinking and Driving charge was handed out. Meanwhile, a South Simcoe Police officer was driving around in a squad car outfitted with a new Automated Licence Plate Reader got a hit on the system. He was patrolling an Alcona neighbourhood around 9:00 last night, when the system pointed him to a nearby pickup truck. Further investigation lead police to charge a 24-year-old Tiverton man with Driving Under Suspension.
