‘No More Pencils, No More Books’ – County Director Of Education Retiring

Kathi Wallace has been with board for 39 years

kathiwallace_webAfter 39 years with the Simcoe County District School Board – the last seven as Director of Education – Kathi Wallace is calling it a day. She will retire on December 31. Her journey with the board began in 1977 as a teacher in Alliston. She served as vice-principal and principal at several schools in the county before becoming superintendent of education in 2005 and director of education in 2009. “Director Wallace has been an incredible champion for Simcoe County families,” says Peter Beacock, Chair of the Board. “She has worked tirelessly to get our board to where we are today by continuing to have a balanced budget, reducing excess spaces and improving learning opportunities for all students from junior Kindergarten right through to our adult learners. She will be missed.”
