One Hurt, Two In Custody After Shooting In Barrie

Shot fired inside building on Edgehill Drive

Shots were fired last night in Barrie at 90 Edgehill Drive. Barrie Police say several shots were fire through a closed door, an adult male inside struck twice. He and a friend were seen fleeing the scene by vehicle. Police spotted the them near Tiffina and Innisfil Streets, attempted to pull the vehicle over, but they say the driver sped off colliding with a nearby utility pole. Both men were taken into custody, one was transferred to Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment. Police feel this was a targetted shooting; that the victim and suspect were known to each other. They do not believe there is any further threat to public safety.
