One In Five Canadian Teens Considered Suicide In Last Year

Girls more than boys

Kids Help Phone has painted a blunt picture of mental health among young people. Its survey of more than 1300 teens, aged 13 to 18, found one-in-five seriously considered suicide in the last year. Nearly half had formulated a plan and girls were twice as likely as boys to consider taking their own life. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among Canasdians aged 15 to 34, second only to motor vehicle crashes.
