One School District Moves To A Four Day School Week

3 day weekend!

A School District in Colorado is moving students to a 4-day school week starting this fall.

There’s a school district in a Denver that will move kids to a Tuesday to Friday schedule, giving students a 3-day weekend!

Elementary schools will begin at 7:50 a.m. and end at 3:30 pm and middle and high schools will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. This new schedule will add approximately an hour to the school day at every school.

The district also chose Mondays to have off because more holidays fall on Mondays.

The reason for this move is that these teachers are the lowest paid in the area and the district hopes to keep their current teachers – as many have been heading to other districts.

According to the school district, when a survey went out to a local teachers association asking if members were in favour of the change, 91% of the responses were positive.

Extended daycare will be offered to students for $30 a day and will be offered from 6:30 am to 6 pm….
