Ontario Working to Close The Gender Gap

The province is taking steps to close the gender wage gap, now they’ve got some guidance on the issue. The final report from the Gender Wage Gap Steering Committee has been released, and is being used to guide new equal opportunity policies. These include more transparent salary data and anti-discrimination training for employers. Statistics Canada says the current gender wage gap in Ontario ranges from 14 to 26 per cent, while Royal Bank says personal income would be about $168 billion higher each year if women earned the same as men.
