Partner In Crime Sought After Review Of Shoplifting Evidence

Accused Candy Thief Wasn't Working Alone

Woman Wanted for TheftPolice just added another level to a goofy story we told you about earlier this month. You heard here a guy was accused of stealing fistfuls of candy from a downtown convenience store, only to be allegedly found not far away, drunk, passed out, and surrounded by candy bars. Barrie Police say after looking at the security footage, they’ve discovered he had a partner in crime. A woman has been seen on surveillance tapes filling her purse with candy during the August 14th incident, while the guy served as a distraction for the store clerk. The suspect is described as:

  • Female
  • white
  • Medium build
  • Dark, shoulder length hair
  • Wearing a blue shirt, black and grey shorts and carrying a bag.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Rose of the Barrie Police Service at 705-725-7025, ext.2731, drose@barriepolice.ca or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS
