UPDATE: Arrest Warrant Issued For Third Suspect Sought Following Homicide In Orillia

Man found after reports of shots fired

June 10 – OPP have issued a Canada-Wide Warrant for the arrest of 28 year old Brian Quesnel of The Nation (near Ottawa) in the death last weekend of 34 year old Joseph Simonds of Orillia. Anyone with information pertaining to Quesnel’s whereabouts is asked to contact police as soon as possible by calling a newly established tip-line 1-844-677-5020,  OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). If seen, his individual should not be approached.

June 8th – Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting death in Orillia. A 20-year-old man from Orillia, and a 41-year-old from St. Barbe, Quebec, both face a charge of First Degree Murder . A third suspect is being sought, but police have limited information on his appearance. Anyone who saw a dark coloured 4-door sedan in the area of Franklin St. between Saturday night and Sunday morning, are asked to contact the Orillia OPP detachment.

June 6th – The OPP have identified the victim as 34-year-old Joseph Simonds of Orillia.

June 4th – OPP in Orillia are investigating the early morning death of a man. Officers were called just before 4am to reports of a shooting at a Franklin Street address. A male victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released. Exact cause of death has yet to be determined.
