Stocks in SnapChat tanked after the social media platform ran an ad asking users if they’d rather “Slap Rihanna” or “punch Chris Brown”
Snapchat. Snap issued an apology after they asked users if they would rather “slap Rihanna” or “punch Chris Brown.”
The advertisement for a mobile game called “Would You Rather” featured photos of Rihanna and Chris Brown, and asked the question.
With that one stupid choice, they lost almost 1 Billion dollars off the value of Snapchat’s parent company, Snap Inc. How? Rihanna caught wind of it.
She posted a note to fans:
“Now snap, I know you already know you ain’t my fave app out there. But I’m just trying to figure out what the point was…” She went on “I’d love to call it ignorance, but I know you ain’t that dumb!” She seteled the app afterwards and encouraged followers to drop the app, too. She also posted the message to her 61 million Instagram followers.
