Long Weekend Safety Blitz Kept Provincial Police Ticket Books Busy

The OPP say the number of seat belt charges laid over the Easter long weekend marks a five year high. A safety blitz over the weekend saw 1,524 charges laid province-wide, the highest number of seat belt infractions reported on an Easter weekend since 2013. Police say there have been 10 seat belt-related fatalities on OPP-patrolled roads so far this year.
