South Simcoe Police Detectives Working Three Weekend Theft Cases

Pocket Change, Lawn Equipment stolen in Three Separate Thefts

South Simcoe Police are dealing with a variety of thefts reported over the weekend. First up, police are reminding residents to keep their vehicle doors locked, after they received a number of complaints of thefts from vehicles in the Alcona area over the weekend. Multiple cars were entered, and in most cases, only change and small items were taken. Next, police say lawn maintenance tools were swiped from a Sandy Cove Acres lock up. Someone ripped the hinges off a shed there, and removed a grass trimmer and leaf blower, along with some gas. Also on Friday, officers say someone entered the Dol Turf Restoration lot on Highway 27 near Bond Head, and made off with some equipment. They would have gotten away with more, but security footage allegedly shows the perp leave behind a trailer that was too heavy for his white pickup truck to haul out of there.
