Speed A Factor In Killer Crash Near Sutton

10 year old boy among the injured

The crest of a hill and excessive speed were factors in the noon-hour crash Thursday near Sutton that left two dead and two others in hospital. OPP say a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed was unable to stop for other vehicles that were waiting to make a turn on Highway 48 and crashed into them. A cube van, SUV and three gravel trucks were involved in the collision. Some of those vehicles were  left unrecognizable, according to OPP Sgt Kerry Schmidt. Among the injured is a 10 year old boy. The investigation continues.
