Teen Airlifted To Toronto Trauma Centre Following April 1st Crash

An Innisfil teen has been charged after an April Fool’s Day crash sent one to hospital. Police say they got the call to Belle Aire Beach Rd near the 20th Sideroad around 2:00 on April 1st, with reports a vehicle had left the roadway and rolled several times. Officers say the driver and four occupants were treated at hospital with minor injuries, while a 6th passenger who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, had to be airlifted to Toronto with serious injuries. After collision reconstructionists poured over the scene, they say the vehicle vaulted over some railroad tracks and a high enough rate of speed to make the driver lose control. The 18-year-old at the wheel facing charges of Speeding, Careless Driving, Stunt Driving, More Passengers Than Seatbelts.
