The Juno’s

Gord's Brothers!

Unlike most of the awards show this season, the Juno focused on positivity instead of opting to make the night about political messages.

Michael Buble was upbeat, announcing that his wife expecting their 3rd child later this year!

Regardless of the awards handed out last night, the country was there and tuned in for one reason, for Gord!

Gord Downie’s brothers Mike and Patrick accepted a posthumous award for the singer, who died last October of brain cancer.

“If we’ve learned anything from Gord it was the value of taking care of each other,” said Patrick.

“This is Gord’s award. It’s artist of the year, but he was our man of a lifetime. I’d like to believe we’re all better artists and people because of him. We love you Gord and we’re all taking good care of each other.  A tribute to Downie was led by Sarah Harmer and Dallas Green, alongside Barenaked Ladies keyboardist Kevin Hearn.

And then it was over and we all went to bed at a reasonable hour!  Also last night, Barenaked Ladies hit the stage for a performance of “One Week” and “If I Had $1000000.”
