SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE SERVICE

On Wednesday, April 4, 2018 around 1:30 p.m., a woman attended the North Division at 2137 Innisfil Beach Rd. in Innisfil to complete a criminal record check for herself.  While speaking with staff at the front desk, an odour of alcohol was detected.  The woman left the station and walked towards her vehicle. Patrol officers were notified and went outside to her vehicle. While speaking to her, officers could detect the odour of alcohol.  An Approved Screening Device was administered which resulted in a fail.  The woman was placed under arrest and brought back into the station.  Further testing resulted in blood alcohol readings of twice the legal limit.  A 48-year-old Innisfil woman was charged accordingly and released on a Promise to Appear with an April court date. Her licence was suspended and the vehicle towed from the police parking lot and impounded.

On Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 7:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision at 10th Sideroad south of the 4th Line in Innisfil.  Police spoke to the driver who was in the passenger seat of a witnesses car. An odour of alcohol was detected and a roadside Approved Screening Device test resulted in a fail.  The driver was arrested and transported to the North Division. Further testing resulted in a Warn Range Suspension being issued. A 52-year-old Newmarket woman had her licence suspended for 3-days. The vehicle was towed with significant damage.

KAWARTHA LAKES OPP

Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 7A on the morning of Saturday March 31. The vehicle was located a short time later in Bethany and following an investigation the driver, 18 year old man from Bethany was arrested and charged with the following offences: Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Drug and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing. On April 4, 2018 officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Pleasant Point Road at approximately 9:30pm. Following an investigation the driver, a 64 year old Lindsay man was arrested and charged with the following offences: Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Alcohol and Driving With More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol.
