Winter in Canada, especially in the Snow Belt where we are, means needing to get out a little early to clear the snow and ice from your car.

If you hate doing this, you’re not alone. But you do it for your safety and the safety of others on the road. And if you don’t, the rest of us judge you.

This driver was pulled over in Brussels, ON. Police say, yes, he was an old guy but he was just being lazy.

So, let’s get back to the solution so you never have to deal with snow and ice on your car in the morning.

I’ll give you a hint:

Do you see it?

Here, it’s a little clearer.

It’s called a GARAGE. And if you have one but you’re not actually parking in it during the winter, you are missing out!
5 winters ago, I discovered the joy of parking in the garage and now I can’t imagine not doing it. Honestly, when we moved in and my husband said “The garage is for cars.” I thought he was being a little silly. Like, who actually parks in their garage? Garage are for tools, boxes of Stuff I don’t Want to Deal With, extra bikes, kids’ outdoor toys…
Garage are ‘man caves’ for some, decked out with TVs and couches. But cars? What a concept!

Seriously though. If you hate brushing and scraping off your car in the late fall and winter, and you have a garage, just park in it! And demand some space if your partner has taken it over for non-car things.

You will love your carefree drive out of the garage. As for the road conditions once you leave… sorry! Can’t help you there.
