Two Barrie Businesses To Receive Provincial Dollars

Two Barrie-based manufacturers are getting a financial boost from the province. Announced this morning, the province is sending $500,000 to both Garaga Inc. and Jacobs & Thompson Inc. via the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund. The money is said to not only allow the two companies to update equipment and expand marketing presence, but also create 27 new jobs and preserve 38 existing positions. Garaga, a company that makes garage doors of all sizes, is receiving $254,328. Jacobs & Thompson Inc. is to receive $250,000 to help the company produce foam, adhesive, and textile laminates.
