WATCH: Couple Spends 24 Years Building Floating Island Home in Canada

Labour of love for artists Catherine King and Wayne Adams, 24 years in the making

This is an incredible story!

As artists, this couple was faced with the prospect of never owning a home. They began their floating island home, which they think of as a treehouse in the ocean, 24 years ago, and haven’t looked back since.

Located just off the West Coast of Vancouver Island, the floating island includes four greenhouses, an art gallery and even a dance floor. Catching dinner is normally easy, but when its too rough and windy to fish outside they can even fish from the comfort of their couch!

Everything was done themselves, with a handsaw and hammer.
