Three drivers caught Monday speeding on short stretch of highway

It was like a day at the drag races for Barrie OPP on Monday. It began at 8:30am with a southbound vehicle on Highway 11 at Line 2 of Oro Medonte clocked at 145kmh in a 90-zone. A 20-year-old man was charged with Stunt Driving and having an Obstructed Licence Plate. Forty minutes later, a 28-year-old man was charged with Stunt Driving after a vehicle was observed travelling 160kmh in a 100-zone on the 400 near Duckworth Street. He was taken into custody after police say he became agitated and argumentative. The drag meet ended at 11:51pm with a driver clocked at 162kmh in a 90-zone, northbound 11 at Line 1 of Oro Medonte. A 25-year-old man was charged with Stunt Driving. All three drivers had their licences suspended and vehicles impounded.
