Barrie Police Lay A Total Of Seven Charges On St. Paddy’s Day

Luck Of The Irish Didn't Keep Some From Being Charged

St. Patrick’s Day not only means lots of folks downing green beer, it also means police kept busy dealing with revelers. Barrie Police say they stopped 475 vehicles during RIDE checks throughout the city last night, claiming three drivers received a 3-day licence suspension after registering a “warn” on a roadside test. One motorist charged with drunk driving after police say a vehicle was spotted swerving side-to-side along Bayfield St. around 2:00 this morning. A 21-year-old Barrie man was arrested and charged. Three Barrie men in their 20’s were also charged with public intoxication while downtown last night.
