Alcona Woman Loses Three Grand To A Compromised Debit Card

Over a Dozen Transactions Made in California In Her Name

A woman lost out about three grand after cops say her ATM card was compromised. The Alcona resident called South Simcoe Police yesterday to report fraudulent activity on her card. Investigators found 19 transactions totaling over $3,000 had been made in California. While the bank will help get that money back, police say to avoid becoming a victim too, always protect your card and its PIN number, and check your bank statements frequently.
