Photographer Lisa Bell was hanging out at a Vancouver Island campground on Friday morning when she heard a strange noises. Beside a nearby pond she found a bald eagle perched on top of a lifeless-looking goose.
“But as it turns out, I think he was probably playing dead,” Lisa said.
As the eagle was trying to get a better grip, the goose got away.
“[The eagle] lost the grip completely and the goose just managed to scoot right out of there.”
The quick-thinking goose headed for the middle of the pond.
With the eagle still on attack, the goose bobbed under the surface and out of harms way.
