“Annie” Song Writer Has Died!

You may not know his name but you know his music! He is a Tony Award-winning lyricist and writer, has died of a heart attack at the aged 84.

Martin Charnin was credited for helping to turn the cartoon strip “Little Orphan Annie” into “Annie,” the hit music with songs like “The sun’ll come out tomorrow.”

Martin Charnin is best known for his work on “Annie winning a Tony Award for Best Original Score for Annie. He also picked up a Grammy for Jay-Z’s Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem), which sampled his Annie tune of the same name.
