Another Bank Fraud Scam

Police Say Don't Be Too Embarrassed To Admit You Have Been Victimized

Police say a bank fraud scam is rearing is ugly head once again. The BANK INVESTOR SCAM is one where someone is contacted by phone and advised that a teller at their bank is stealing money. The victim is then instructed to withdraw a large sum of cash and place in an envelope. Then meet the person, who calls themselves the INVESTIGATOR in the parking lot, where the money is turned over. The victims are also asked is they have cash at home and told they should turn that money over as well as it might be counterfeit.  One woman in Meaford became a victim of this scam in 2012 after losing almost 45-hundred dollars. Police say that if you suspect you may have been the victim of fraud to call them immediately.
