Another Syrian Landmark Destroyed
And more Syrian refugees are returning to their homeland
Another link to Syria’s past has been destroyed by ISIS. The 2000 year old Arch of triumph in the ancient city of Palmyra has been blown up. It was one of the most recognizable sights in the city. Syria’s head of antiquities has reached out to the international community to find a way to save Palmyra.
Meantime, more and more Syrian refugees are returning to their homeland – some due to conditions in host countries, some because they can’t afford to pay smugglers to sneak them into those countries, others are simply homesick.
