Baby Girl Left In Hot Markham Car

Parents Charged After Police Smash Car Window

Some parents are facing charges after police had to smash a car window to rescue an child. A concerned citizen called York Regional Police from a shopping centre parking lot at Highway 7 and Woodbine around 6:00 last evening, after they say a baby had been left in a hot car. They say the child had been in the vehicle alone at least 15 minutes before police were called, and officers smashed the window to get to the baby girl. They say she’d been showing signs of distress, and was treated by paramedics on scene. The parents were located and charged appropriately.
