Barrie Apartment Building Evacuated After Second Floor Balcony Fire

Several families are homeless after a fire Friday afternoon tore through a Little Avenue apartment. Barrie fire investigators say it appears to have started on a second-floor balcony, flooding the third floor with smoke. There were no injuries. Smoke alarms were working. The Red Cross and Barrie Housing have stepped in to help the displaced families. Cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
