Barrie Company Fined $60k Following Employee Death

No Training Given To Worker Injured On the Job in 2014

A Barrie contracting company has been fined after the death of a worker on the job. M. Fuda Contracting Inc. has been fined $60,000 after the Ministry of Labour says a worker was killed after not receiving any training for the job he was assigned to. On February 4th, 2014, workers were removing trench boxes from a 20-foot deep excavation site in the Bayview and Churchill Drives area, when a worker was knocked off a ladder by one of those boxes. He later died of head injuries sustained in the fall.
