Barrie Knife Incident May Have Been Over Unpaid Drug Debt

Barrie Police think their latest incident was over an unpaid debt. Around 9:00 Sunday evening, two men went to a Shelly Lane home in Barrie, allegedly looking for a woman who owed them some money. Police say one man brandished a knife and threatened the person who answered the door, but left without using it, after a brief argument. Officers believe the debt is drug related, but were able to track down the suspect with the knife in short order. Now a 22-year-old Barrie man is up on a few weapons-related charges.
