Barrie Man Charged With Assaulting His Elderly Father

Dispute Over Family Vehicle Escalated

A slew of charges for a Barrie man, after police say he beat up his elderly father. Barrie Police around 4:00 yesterday afternoon, a 41-year-old man forced his way into his parents Boag Court home, supposedly over an ongoing dispute over a vehicle. Police say the guy threw a cigarette in the face of his 81-year-old father before spitting on him and punching him. The elderly man was allegedly knocked to the ground and threatened with death, the assault only coming to an end after the suspect found out the cops were called. The victim was taken to RVH, while police tracked down the suspect. He’s facing two counts of Threatening Death, along with a charge each of Forcible Entry, Trespassing, and Assault.
