Barrie Man Talked Down From Balcony

Drugs May Have Played A Part

Some calm words and careful persuasion helped police take a man into custody. Around 6:30 last night, Barrie Police got a flood of calls about a man trying to break into a Worsley St. apartment building. Thing is, police say the guy climbed off a second floor balcony to the floor below, allegedly smashing that balcony’s sliding glass door, cutting his arm severely in the process. Police say they arrived to find the guy on the balcony waving a knife. They calmed him down and took him to the hospital before the lockup, after being charged with Mischief and Weapons Dangerous. Drugs may have played a factor.
