Barrie Park Renamed in Honour of Former Councillor
Afternoon Ceremony Today to Recognize Sam Cancilla
As of 2:00 this afternoon, you can visit Sam Cancilla Park in Barrie. A ceremony this afternoon to officially rename Bayview Park in honour of a former City of Barrie councillor credited with numerous city improvements including the Barrie Sports Hall of Fame, Victoria Village, the Southshore Centre and Bayview Park itself. The City decided to name the park after Cancilla back in May.
