Barrie Police Cuff Suspected Bandit Eight Months Later

Police Make Arrest Following Convenience Store Hold Up In May

It took them about eight months, but Barrie Police say they got their man. A 35-year-old Barrie man is facing a few charges including Robbery and Assault with a Weapon, after police say he was the one who held up a convenience store last May. Investigators claim he wore a disguise and went into the Essa and Burton area Mac’s Convenience store on the 27th, demanding cash from the clerk. Police say the suspect took the entire cash register with him, which was found later along with a hoodie the suspect wore at the scene of the crime. Police say he’s being held until his court date, thanks to his lengthy criminal record.
