Beautiful Barrie

by Weekend Newsguy | Aug 11, 2015
In an effort to combat graffiti and beautify the city, Barrie and Bell unveiled the latest mural in the graffiti abatement plan. Mayor Jeff Lehman and the artists who worked on this latest piece were at the corner of Bayfield St and Collier to show off this historic mural. The painting depicts the spirit catcher and a Naval guide crossing Kempenfelt Bay in 1832. The Bell boxes are part of the city’s Graffiti Abatement Program which uses combination of removal, enforcement and educational initiatives to reduce the amount of graffiti in Barrie.
